How to Solve the Gallery Clock Talisman Puzzle – Alone in the Dark

After you’ve done some running around in Chapter 2 of Alone in the Dark, you’ll end up with a couple of spare plates. You’ll be able to insert them into the big clock in the Gallery, thus activating its talisman puzzle. This quick guide will help you solve it.

Starting the Puzzle

You’ll be able to start this puzzle after collecting two spare plates hidden throughout Derceto during Chapter 2 of Alone in the Dark. Once you have them, simply head to the upstairs part of the Gallery (Image 1) and insert them into the “Astronomical” clock you’ll see there (Image 2). Afterwards, you’ll need to solve a plate-spinning puzzle. But once you’re done with that, the clock will stop and you’ll get a new objective – Find the Talisman numbers hidden on the Astronomical Clock (3).

Solving the Puzzle

With the clock stopped, you’ll be able to inspect its face. When you do, you’ll see three separate dials. The large one is stuck at 6, the medium-sized one is stuck at 4, and the small one is stuck at 3. And what do you know, your talisman has three sections – the large outer one, medium-sized middle one, and small inner one. This gives us the solution:

Insert your talisman into the fixed panel of plates on the side of the clock (Image 3 above) and dial 6 – 4 – 3 from outer to inner.

Now head into the hallway outside Jeremy’s room (Image 4). Go straight ahead there, and a few steps in, the hallway will shift and a door will open by itself. Going through it will take you to the Hateful Mound (Image 5).
