Mithral Ore – Baldur’s Gate 3

Mithral Ore is needed for smelting powerful items in the Adamantine Forge. This guide will help you find it during your playthrough of Baldur’s Gate 3. Keep in mind, though, that the ore alone won’t do you any good without the moulds to put it into!

During our playthrough we were able to find two chunks of Mithral Ore. Don’t hesitate to let us know if we missed any.

After you’ve defeated the Animated Armours to get the Scale Mail Mould, you should head through the gap in the wall and descend towards an area full of lava. The lava looks scarier than it is – you won’t take damage unless you get in the liquid stuff. So, stand on the edge of the lava river and jump it to get to your first Mithral Vein. Then, attack it with a weapon to reveal the Mithral Ore inside.

From the Underdark – Ancient Forge Waypoint head straight down the stairs, jump the gap and turn left. The Mithral Vein is in sight. But if you run straight to it, you’ll be ambushed by a group of Magma Mephits who will get a Surprise round against you. This can be a pretty deadly encounter, so we recommend sneaking to the vein, which avoids the encounter altogether.
