How to Skip the Launcher – Baldur’s Gate 3

Are you tired of yet another third party launcher when you launch a game through Steam? Never fear, skipping the pesky Larian Launcher whenever you play Baldur’s Gate 3 is a simple process.

The fastest method to skip the launcher is through the games launch options. First, navigate to your Steam Library and find Baldur’s Gate 3. Right click the game, and select Properties at the bottom of the context menu.

In the popup window, scroll to the bottom of the General tab. You should see a Launch Options section at the bottom, here you’ll want to write:

--skip-launcher

Afterwards, just close out of the window and you should never see the launcher again!

If you prefer to not bother with Steam’s launch options, you can make a shortcut directly to the game that will function the same. However, unlike with the prior method you cannot launch the game through Steam, you’ll have to use the new shortcut you make.

First, right click Baldur’s Gate 3 in Steam, hover over Manage, and selected “Browse Local Files.”

This will open up your file explorer in the directory where Baldur’s Gate is installed. Enter the bin folder, and you’ll find two .exe files. The file ending in _dx11 is the DirectX 11, while the other one is for Vulkan. Right click whichever version you prefer, and towards the bottom of the context menu you should see “Create Shortcut.” Clicking this will make a direct shortcut to the game that you can put anywhere!

With this method, just don’t forget that you have to access the game through the shortcut, not through Steam.
