Baldur’s Gate 3 Full Release – Everything That Will Be Added in 1.0

In a community post, the developers for Baldur’s Gate 3 pushed up the release date for the PC version to August 3rd (and pushed back the release of the PlayStation 5 version to September 6th). Alongside this announcement, though, they also announced a metric ton of new content and features that will come with the full release of the game into 1.0. The community post in question is a bit lengthy, so we hope we can make it a little bit clearer what exactly will be added for the full release of Baldur’s Gate 3.

Without further ado, here’s the quick look at what will be added on full release:

  • Level 12 Cap: the new level cap for the game will be level 12, two whole levels higher than the originally-planned level 10 cap.
  • Difficulty Modes: In addition to the default “Normal Mode”, there will be 2 other difficulty modes, Story Mode and Hardcore Mode
    • Story Mode will be more forgiving, giving players several bonuses to make their time with the game easier while they enjoy the story.
    • Hardcore Mode cranks the difficulty up, making enemies tougher, smarter, and more brutal.
  • 13 Subtitled Languages: Baldur’s Gate 3 will be available in English, French, German, Polish, Russian, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Spanish, Spanish (Latin America), Turkish, Portuguese-Brazil, Italian, and Ukrainian.
  • 2 New Races: Dragonborn and Half-Orcs
    • Half-Orcs will be some of the deadliest natural warriors in Baldur’s Gate 3, getting Savage Attacks to increase weapon damage and Relentless Endurance to get themselves in the fight with 1 HP.
    • Dragonborn are getting 10 subraces to represent 10 different colors of dragon (Black, Blue, Brass, Bronze, Copper, Gold, Green, Red, Silver and White) This subrace will determine a dragonborn’s breath weapon.
  • Duregar Dwarf Subrace: The ultimate in “dug-too-deep”, these Underdark variants of the Dwarf race are sure to be stoic and dangerous.
  • Monk Class: The ultimate martial artists, Monks start with Unarmored Defense to help them dodge attacks, and then grow in combat prowess from there using Martial Arts and other class abilities.
    • Open Hand Subclass: Monks of the Open Hand will be close combat specialists, using Ki points to infuse their fists and weapons with powerful effects.
    • Shadow Subclass: Shadow Monks are stealth masters, able to strike enemies brutally and then return to the shadows.
    • Four Elements Subclass: Four Elements Monks give caster abilities, letting you follow your barrage of fists with powerful elemental magic.
  • 22 New Subclasses: Every class in the game has at least one new subclass at Level 3, with some casters getting far more.
    • Barbarian: Barbarians will have access to the caster-adjacent Wild Magic subclass.
    • Druid: Druids will have access to the plant-oriented Spores subclass.
    • Fighter: Fighters will have access to the athletic Champion subclass.
    • Ranger: Rangers will have access to the tricky, sneaky Gloom Stalker subclass.
    • Assassin: Rogues will have access to the deadly Assassin subclass.
    • Sorcerer: Sorcerers will have access to the weather-based Storm Sorcery subclass.
    • Bard: Bards will have access to the combat-capable School of Swords subclass.
    • Warlock: Warlocks will have access to the forest-magic Archfey Patron subclass.
    • Paladin: Paladins will have access to the retribution-obsessed Oath of Vengeance subclass.
    • Cleric: Clerics will have access to 4 new domains: Knowledge, Nature, Tempest, and War, each granting a different set of spells and abilities.
    • Wizard: Wizards will have access to 6 new schools: Conjuration, Divination, Enchantment, Necromancy, Illusion, and Transmutation, granting additional spells.
  • New Origin Character, Karlach: a Tiefling Barbarian whose origin is written in blood and scars from the battlefield. See featured image of this article.
    • She joins Astarion, Gale, Shadowheart, Lae’zel, and Wyll as Origins characters, who are potential companions that you can also play as if you select them during character creation.
  • Companions: Players will be able to team up with (and romance) Halsin, Jaheira, Minsc, and Minthara in their travels.

  • 51 New Spells/Subspells: Bringing to total number of spells and subspells to over 600 (not including upcasts)

While the early access version of Baldur’s Gate 3 is certainly not lacking in content, all these additions will surely round it out for its full release on August 3rd for PC (or September 6th for PlayStation 5).
