Latenna

Game: Elden Ring

An archer who can be made into a powerful spirit summon early in the game, as part of her simple quest.

Latenna’s early-game quest sees her become a spirit summon almost easily, and her range and immobility makes her one of the best summons in the game. While it will take a long time before you can complete her quest, doing so is incredibly simple, only requiring eventual access to the Consecrated Snowfields.

How to Complete Latenna’s Quest and Unlock the Consecrated Snowfields

Latenna is first encountered at the Slumbering Wolf’s Shack, which can be accessed by clearing the Lakeside Crystal Cave in Liurnia. Begin her quest by speaking to her, and she will mention that she “possesses no such Medallion.”

The medallion that Latenna was alluding to is actually in two pieces, with the first being possessed by Old Albus in the Village of the Albinaurics in Liurnia. Albus is disguised as a pot in this village (similar to how Boc was disguised in Limgrave). Roll into the pot to break his illusion, then exhaust his dialog. This will reward you with the Haligtree Secret Medallion (Right).

Note: This step will occur whenever you return to the Roundtable Hold after acquiring Albus’s half of the Haligtree Medallion.

After speaking to Albus and acquiring his half of the medallion, you will be attacked by Ensha the next time you return to the Roundtable Hold. Defeating him will not only hint at Gideon Ofnir’s true intentions, but also reward you with the Clinging Bone and the Royal Remains armor set.

WARNING: Make sure to complete this step before taking the Grand Lift of Rolf to the Mountaintop of the Giants, or else she will die without beginning her quest. While you will still get her spirit ashes this way, you will not be able to complete step 5.

Go back to Latenna at the Slumbering Wolf’s Shack and exhaust her dialog. Seeing that you now possess half of the Haligtree Medallion, she will trust you, and agree to come with you to Miquella’s Haligtree. After this, she will become Latenna the Albinauric, an excellent spirit summon.

Much later, at the Mountaintop of the Giants, go to Castle Sol. Here, Commander Niall has stolen the other half of the Haligtree Medallion. In order to progress further, you must defeat him. Doing so will reward you with the Haligtree Secret Medallion (Left) and the Veteran’s Prosthesis.

To complete Latenna’s journey, you must bring her ashes to the Apostate Derelict in the Consecrated Snowfields, which can be accessed using the two halves of the Haligtree Secret Medallion to reactivate the Grand Lift of Rold to take you down instead of up. Once you get to the Apostate Derelict, go to the giant Albinauric woman and interact with her to summon Latenna. After delivering some closing remarks, she will agree to continue fighting alongside you as a spirit summon and rewarding you with a Somber Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone.
