Elden Ring Updates SteamDB Ahead of The Game Awards – DLC New Incoming?

Elden Ring is one of the biggest games of all time. FromSoft, the developers of Elden Ring, are known for releasing extremely high-quality DLC that elevates their games. FromSoft love making updates and announcements around The Game Awards (like last year’s, where they announced Armored Core 6), which are fast approaching on December 7th. And, to top it all off, Elden Ring’s SteamDB page just got some updates: the packages for both the base game and Deluxe Editions of the game were updated just 9 days ago, and the game’s depots were updated just a few hours ago, at time of writing.

It might be fair to guess, then, that an update to the game — perhaps mirroring the Colosseum Update that came 1 day before the Game Awards last year — is imminent. And, if the pattern holds, it stands to reason that this hypothetical-but-highly-likely update could build up hype and herald in news (like a trailer or release date) for Shadow of the Erdtree, the upcoming DLC that was announced with a single picture 9 months ago and has, since, been the only news revealed so far.

That’s 9 months that FromSoft has had to work on the DLC since then, and many fans are convinced that they’ve got something to show for it by now. For many fans, these SteamDB Updates only serve as further proof that a trailer for Shadow of the Erdtree will likely come during the game awards, and that another update is likely to precede them as well.

But this is all just speculation — albeit based on past trends and plenty of evidence. The one thing we know for sure is that FromSoft has been updating files for Elden Ring in preparation for something, so I guess we will just have to see what. But… it’s gotta be related to the Shadow of the Erdtree, right? More hype is sure to follow, stay tuned.
