An introduction to the ESO factions for beginning players.
Aldmeri Dominion
The Aldmeri Dominion was formed in an attempt to take control of the Imperial City and make the continent ruled by Elves once again. This faction has the most intelligent and thoughtful races, or so it is said (Altmer, Bosmer, and Khajiit). The Aldmeri Dominion believes it is their duty to protect Tamriel from the careless actions and threats of the younger races.
The Aldmeri Dominion dominates Elsweyr, Summerset Isles and Valenwood, having its capital standing tall in Elden Root, where the leader of the faction, Queen Ayrenn, rules.
You’ll begin the game in Auridon if you join the first Aldmeri Dominion.
This faction is highly unstable, but its military force is one of the biggest of all times. The Ebonheart Pact is lead by the stout Nord, Jorunn the Skald-King, and it stretches over Skyrim, the Black Marsh and Morrowind.
The Ebonheart Pact consists of the Nords, Dunmer, and Argonians. The Pact’s alliance suffers from political infighting at times, but with Jorunn the Skald-King’s strong leadership they stay banded together — for now.
If you wish to join the fight with Jorunn, you’ll begin your game in Davon’s Watch, which is located in Morrowind.
Like the other factions, The Daggerfall Covenant consists of an alliance of three races (Bretons, Orcs, and Redguards). These storied races joined up under one banner because the region is troubled with poverty, hunger and misery – something needs to be done.
The Daggerfall Covenant holds the lands of Hammerfell, Orsinium and High Rock, having its capital on Wayrest (which is located in High Rock).
The Covenant’s leader is the powerful High King Emeric and, if you choose to pledge allegiance to this faction, you’ll begin your game in Daggerfall.
