Last week, ZeniMax Online Studios released a game trailer showcasing new epic content for The Elder Scrolls Online. ESO is barely over a week old, and the ZeniMax crew is already adding a whole new Adventure Zone for players to explore.
Craglorn
Craglorn is the first Adventure Zone being released for ESO. The new content is geared specifically for groups of 4 players and introduces Trials — a large group, Veteran PvE system for 12 players.
It goes without saying that Craglorn isn’t for noobs or the faint of heart. Starting at Veteran Rank 10, the Adventure Zone gives players an intriguing, mystery-based storyline to deal with. According to Paul Sage, ESO Creative Director:
When you first enter Craglorn, there’s going to be a mystery that’s setup. The constellations are missing from the sky, and you’re going to hear rumors of these beings called Celestials. They are the Warrior, the Mage, the Serpent, and the Thief, and how they’re impacting Craglorn and what’s going on is going to be what your group discovers.
Besides the compelling storyline, Craglorn offers the following:
Challenging 4-player quests
A new main city to explore (Belkarth)
Veteran level dungeons with a high degree of difficulty
Boss fights
Trials for 12-player groups
Trials are the ultimate ESO challenge for the best-of-the-best. In Trials, 12-player groups will face:
Environmental hazards
New monsters
Boss monsters with unique tactics
Timed adventures
A limited number of resurrections
A leaderboard and rewards for the best player groups.
Why We Should Be Excited
Craglorn is proof-positive that The Elder Scrolls Online is not some static game — it’s a game that will continue to evolve and challenge players as time goes by. Craglorn is an example of what makes our subscription fees worthwhile. Even if you never attempt the Veteran level dungeons or Trials in this new release, Craglorn gives us a glimpse into the future and stands as an example of the quality content the ZeniMax Online Studio team will continue to release, expanding the MMO and social capabilities of the game. With the introduction of Craglorn, the future looks very bright indeed for fans of The Elder Scrolls Online.
