Gotham Knights Will Have 4-Player Co-Op Mode “Heroic Assault” in November

The official Gotham Knights twitter shared yesterday that a new, free mode would be added to Gotham Knights November 29th, 2022. This mode, entitled Heroic Assault, is a 4-player co-op experience completely separate from the main story campaign.

The more cynically-minded fans may wonder if this announcement was meant to distract from the quiet Discord announcement that the game would be locked to 30FPS on consoles, which occurred later in the evening. Regardless of motive, it’s always nice to get new, free features. Heroic Assault mode sounds like a great way to play the game with more than just one friend (which is what co-op in the single player campaign is limited to).

As per the official FAQ, Heroic Assault is completely separate from the main campaign, and provides a dedicated arena-like environment with specific objectives and enemies. There are 30 floors of the arena, so it clearly isn’t an Endless mode — it will be interesting to see if the objectives and enemies are randomly generated, or if beating the Heroic Assault once means you’ve seen all the mode has to offer.

Gotham Knights releases on October 21st, 2022, on Steam and next gen PlayStation and Xbox consoles.
