The Talos Principle 2 – Eastern Wetlands (East 3) Star Statue Guide

The Eastern Wetlands (East 3) are a change of pace from the previous two regions (The Grasslands Ring and the Wooded Plateau), with striking architecture and some features that are preludes of what is to come. Amongst those features are two which are familiar: a Pandora Statue and a Sphinx Statue, which will require some out of the box (get it) thinking and some keen observation. This guide will help you solve both, so that you can collect the Statues’ Stars.

The Star Statue Puzzles in The Talos Principle 2 are puzzles dotted throughout the 12 regions of game, with 2 Statues in each region. Solving them allows you to acquire Stars, and once you have them all, you’ll be able to enter the Astronomical Temple near the Megastructure.

There are 3 different kinds of Star Statue Puzzles: Prometheus Puzzles, which require you to chase his sprites through the region; Pandora Puzzles, which require to you connect her box to a beam to activate; and Sphinx Puzzles, which require you to solve a key placard.

To solve the Pandora Puzzle in the Grasslands Ring, you should start by going to the statue itself. It is located to the southwest of the island and close to Puzzle 6, and can be seen on your compass as either a “?” symbol, or as a Star symbol. Once you approach it, you will see that Pandora is holding a box with a Green Receiver on the front (Image 1); you will need to hit this with a Green laser in order to complete the puzzle.

Similar to the Pandora Puzzle in the Wooded Plateau (East 2), you’ll need to follow an incomplete beam and power it before you can power the Receiver on Pandora’s Box. To do so, look for a tower to the west of the Pandora Statue (Image 2). When you approach it, you will be able to see a dotted line going from a Connector atop it, indicating an incomplete beam (Image 3).

Follow this line across the island, until you reach the building with a spire on top (Image 4), where the beam will “bounce” off of another Connector, before finally ending in an rocky outcropping near Puzzle 3 (Image 5).

Once you’ve found the Connector in the rocky outcropping above, you can enter Puzzle 3 (Image 6). Once you are inside, you should be able to use the RGB Converter from the Puzzle (Image 7) in order to connected its already-Green beam to the connector (Image 8). If the puzzle has reset, you may need to manipulate the two Connecters to provide Blue and Red beams, however (Image 7 again). In either case, this will result in the beam you followed here becoming powered (Image 9).

Now you can head to Puzzle 6 (Image 10). Using the Connector in the puzzle, connect it to the Connector (now with a Green Beam) on top of the tower (Image 11) and to the Receiver on Pandora’s Box (Image 12). This will power the Receiver and complete Pandora’s Puzzle for the Eastern Wetlands (Image 13).

Now you just need to head back to Pandora’s Statue and collect your Star. (Image 14).

Now, for a real sneaky one. In order to complete the Sphinx Puzzle of the Eastern Wetlands, you should start by heading to the statue, which is within a psuedo-maze on the east side of the island (Image 1). There, you will find a key on the placard depicting a location which, at first, seems easy to identify (Image 2).

The location depicted is at the far west of the island, and can be easily identified thanks to the giant statue on the miniature island and the positioning of the Tower’s legs (Image 3). From here, you can use the key to identify where you’ll need to go; to a structure behind the statue (Image 4).

Now, here is where it gets tricky: the switch you need to activate is in a bit of concrete jutting out from the ground, to the left of several similar pieces and covered in shade from some nearby trees. We have provided 2 angles of the switch so you can better locate it (Images 5 and 6). Once you flip the switch, though, the Sphinx puzzle will be complete — it’s that easy.

Once you have flipped the switch and hear the sound cue, you can head back to the Sphinx statue on the east side of the island to collect your Star (Image 7).

Collecting both Stars in the region will make progress toward opening up the Astronomical Temple outside the Megastructure, but you will need all 24 Stars from each of the 12 Regions in order to do so. Check out our other Star Statue guides for information.
