A Near Dawn KickStarter News

If you enjoy point and click adventure games then this one may just be for you. A Near Dawn is a brand new psychological thriller game that’s just been released on Kickstarter. Created by the Toronto based game developer, Far-off Daydream, they bring us this new and exciting game. It promises to be a character driven story filled with mystery and darkness.

The story

Following the story of the attorney, Sam Nichols, he takes on a case far bigger than he could imagine. In an attempt to take down a multinational corporation, conspiracy is not far behind. And he may just discover something darker lurking in the recesses of his mind. You must discover the truth.

The developers for A Near Dawn seem to have put in a lot of love for this project. Clearly representing their love of classic adventure games such as Monkey Island, you can see where they are trying to go with their latest venture. Just how deep the story goes is up to you.

I think perhaps the most unique part of this game is the choices. Throughout the game, you will have to make decisions for Sam. Those choices will reflect what sort of person he will turn out to be; light or dark. As someone who is struggling with his darkness, the decisions you make will have rewards or consequences, depending on what you choose. The artwork also looks stunning and it is ripe with the promise of multiple endings. So, plenty of chance to replay the game if you so wished. But, it isn’t all doom and gloom, there will be humour throughout to keep the pace of the story by the looks of things.

You can check out their kickstarter right now and back their project. They are still a fair bit away from their goal but from what I’ve already seen it looks very promising. The visuals are exceptional and the story has some intrigue to it. How it will differ from other adventure games of its ilk is really unknown at this point. However, if you want to play a demo of it, you can download the prologue for free. Despite how early on in the process this game is, the developers have high hopes for the future. They are even looking at making it an epic episodic story line.

If this sounds like your type of game then make sure you head over and support their project. They still have a long way to go, so what are you waiting for? Do your good deed for today and back this one because it honestly looks to be a great game.

I've always had a passion for games and, since I found my passion for writing, I wanted to write about them. I'll play just about anything if I can get my hands on it. I have an unhealthy obsession with all things Star Wars and my motto is "Never apologise for being a nerd."
