Skyrim Magic The Gathering Cards

Skyrim Magic The Gathering Cards

Skyrim Magic The Gathering cards are another brilliant fan creation…

Let me say right away that I’m not really into the whole collectible card thing. Besides a short stint buying Pokemon cards for my daughter at our local comic book store, my firsthand experience with CCGs is pitiful. Even Pikachu and JigglyPuff feel sorry for me. I’m such a n00b.

Despite my ignorance, I believe I have a rudimentary understanding of how games like Magic: The Gathering work. In short, players:

  • Collect cards
  • Trade cards
  • Build decks
  • Battle one another

Sounds easy enough, but in the hands of a master player, CCGs are an art form, the nuisances and complexities of which escape me.

I realize there are fans just as passionate about Magic: The Gathering as I am about Skyrim. I think this is cool, and I admire the enthusiasm of Magic players. While conducting research for a different article, I stumbled upon such a group of players that combined their love for both games. By using Magic Set Editor software, unique Skyrim Magic The Gathering Cards were made. Check out these creations by Guitarweeps:

The Skyrim community is absolutely amazing, and the variety of fan creations never ceases to amaze me. Whether it’s costume design and reenactment by cosplayers such as Gekroent, illustrations and paintings by artists such as John Gallagher, or original music by fans like Shane Blair, Skyrim and the Elder Scrolls franchise is alive and thriving. Skyrim Magic The Gathering cards are another unique way that fans celebrate the world’s greatest video RPG, and even though I know little about CCGs and Magic, the work by Guitarweeps and other players is something that I can appreciate and enjoy. Until next time fellow travelers!
